Happy New Year 2008!

We brought in the New Year the way you might expect us to: playing games! We started off with some Scene It! Lights, Camera, Action. Up until tonight, Nadia and I were undefeated in that game, soundly beating any person who would test their movie trivia skills against ours. That all changed when we met our match; John and Sylvia, our friends and now neighbors, came in and showed us what it is to be movie trivia experts.

We moved to Rock Band. Nad and I have never been able to get a group of four going before. Knowing that both of them are fans of Guitar Hero, it only made sense that they’d want to give this game a shot. Nadia hit the drums as usual, I was up on bass while John took his usual post as lead guitar. This left Sylvia on the mic; she had never done karaoke before.

We rocked out up until and after the ball dropped playing songs like Creep, Paranoid, Don’t Fear (the Reaper) and Highway Star. Guitar Hero’s fun factor cannot match a band of four in Rock Band; I never really understood how fun this game could be until tonight. Below are a few pics from tonight’s gig.

I hope you all enjoyed your New Year. I wish you all the best!

Merry Christmas

This is our last Christmas in this house and in Maryland. It is a little scary, and a little exciting at the same time. I hope you all enjoy your holiday!

Edit: We “cheated” and opened our gifts now so that we can sleep in tomorrow morning. Being an adult means being able to make your own rules! :)

The 29th Bestest Day Ever

It’s that time of year again, where I get older.

This time around, Nadia took me to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. We spent three days there, Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Up until today we took some time off to relax before getting back to work. Nad has several pictures to share, which I am sure she will do soon. Our trip to Virginia deserves a post of its own, so I will go into detail about it at a later time.

I got a ton of calls, e-mails and text messages from friends and family wishing me a happy birthday. I appreciate each and every one of you, thank you.

Kevin and Athena got me a few HD DVDs, the DS game Picross, and a book (I don’t know which since it has not arrived yet). Aside from our vacation, Nadia tracked down MP-05 Masterpiece Megatron (pictured to the left of MP-01 Masterpiece Optimus Prime):

Technically, that isn’t MP-01. That’s the 20th Anniversary Prime that was at Toys R Us a couple of years ago. However, he is a damn close copy of MP-01, who we do own as well. Nad just won’t take him out of his box.

Both figures stand at around 31cm tall. Only our Unicron figure is taller.
