I just finished writing a lengthy post about all the apps that I use with my phone. I linked to several sites, and provided some insight on how each one worked.
So, what did Wordpress do when I hit ‘Publish’? It lost my work, of course. It didn’t keep a draft of it (I did have a draft saved, as I started writing this last week). It also is no where to be found in the database.
That’s not to mention the numerous errors I am now encountering in the admin screen, which (thankfully) won’t affect any users.
This means that I will either be upgrading Wordpress soon, or switching to a different blogging platform. I’m leaning toward the latter, as Wordpress has pissed me off too many times in recent memory. My posts will likely slow to a crawl until that happens.

I’ve finally beaten the gallery issues. For whatever reason, this new webhost’s mod_rewrite handling is totally different from the old host, which is likely the issue that messed up the gallery in the first place. mod_rewrite is the thing that makes the URL of the site look pretty, like /blog/v/cats/sara/sara.jpg instead of /blog/wp-gallery2.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&2_itemID=13. Oh well, if it works, even with that ugly URL, then I’ll be happy with that. I’m uploading images again, and should be done by the end of the weekend.
I came home tonight to shit smeared on the floor again, but it didn’t stay there. No, the dog knocked over the gate that traps her in the kitchen and tracked her poo prints onto the carpet. Fantastic. I love dogs.
If I’ve learned anything about my time with Pooch, it is that I am a good cat owner, and a poor dog owner. I lack the patience to deal with dogs. This will be the last time I ever have a dog in this house, or any house that I live in.
Update: Here’s the poo-monger

I have no idea why, but if you are using IE and try to browse the gallery, it throws a 404 (page not found). If you use Firefox, you can see it just fine. I’ll work on figuring it out a bit later.
Just one more reason to get Firefox!
