I’ve got seven days left in Virilion’s DC office and sixteen days left on the East Coast. I’m equally excited and terrified.

My excitement comes from living in a new home so far away from here, working from home full time, and becoming landlords. My terror comes from living in a new home so far away from here, working from home full time, and becoming landlords.

Actually, Nadia will be the landlady. I’ll still be a mooch.

This whole move and everything related to it is insanely expensive. When all is said and done, we will have spent just under $10,000. Luckily the Army is paying for moving the furniture, we’ve got some tax money to fall back on, and some part of that will be reimbursed (hopefully). I’ve been getting a few questions about the move, so I thought I would list my answers here:

  • We are moving because Nadia is now a 2nd Lieutenant and is being moved to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • I can’t stay behind and let Nadia go to Ft. Carson alone.
  • Nadia’s chances for deployment to the Middle East have gone up 200%.
  • The government quarters we are staying in is smaller than this townhouse (one less floor).
  • We will be renting the townhouse; if you are looking for a place near Baltimore, MD let us know.
  • Our cats are coming with us.
  • I am keeping my job and will be working remotely.
