Just Got Back From Transformers

I loved it, and I’m happy that I can say those words, considering what I said to my work friends a few weeks ago:

I’m hyped for the movie, but I know it is going to be awful, so it is like walking into a trap.

I can’t imagine a Transformers fan going to see this movie and not liking it. Well, Nadia didn’t, but that’s really because of a particular scene that really robbed her of the ability to enjoy it. I’d share that scene with you, but it is a spoiler. She might come around in a few days.

This movie had a pretty good balance of drama, humor and action. The special effects were quite good, and fans of the series and comics will dig a few lines that are clearly in-jokes written just for them. If anything bugged me, it would be the fact that the original voice actor for Megatron was not used. Not that Hugo Weaving did a bad job at all. I was just hoping for the voice that I have always associated with Megs, since all the Optimus fans out there got his original voice.

    MANNNN!!!! THAT WASSSSS AWWWEEEESOMMMMEEEE!!!!! I think this is probably the best comic/cartoon to movie ever made! Every penny that they spent making this movie was well spent and every penny i spent to watch it , and i will see it again atleast 2 more times, will be worth it its just sad to see so many TRANSFORMER band wagon riders out the with the tee’s not really able to understand what it is like to be able to see your childhood heros come to life!!!!

    I loved it, too. Funny thing is, I talked with my bro-in-law about it the next day, and we spent 15 minutes nit-picking all the things that bothered us. In the end, though, we still absolutely loved it. Can’t wait for the next one.

    I was a little disappointing in the under-utilization of John Turturro, a personal favorite actor of mine.

    I’d be interested to hear what part ruined it for Nadia.

    I agree. It was tight. I also kind of agree with Tony’s comment about John Turturro. I don’t think he was under-utilized so much as mis-used.

    Wicked….That was wicked. you have to see it again… you catch a lot more the second time around.
