It will be a while before we get that Acadia…

Following a comment by Stacy about the Acadia Forums, I went to the GMC site and built an Acadia. I was a bit conservative (I didn’t pick the top of the line trim level…but the one just below it looked really good!), but I lost my mind when I selected the options (it had to have 19″ wheels…). Payments were estimated at just over $600 per month – I may have to hold back on an option or two…but I’m not budging on the wheels.

We will definitely be in a different (*better*) financial situation in a few months. We want to focus on finishing our payments on Hotaru before taking on another auto loan. She will be paid off next summer, so that will give us time to save towards a down payment, too.

I don’t get excited about cars often (that I can actually own…I like the exotics just as much as the next enthusiast and they are made to get you excited about it). When I do and actually want to test drive the vehicle, it is pretty much sold. I was in love with the Grand Am when I saw it in Lethal Weapon 4 (see very bottom of link for reference). I fell in love with the Vibe at the 2001 NY Auto Show. Now, its the Acadia. We will get this car…like the others, it will just be a while…

Its an excellent choice. You pretty much have an idea as to where I stand with American made cars, but the trucks are off the wall. I stand behind GMC, Chevy, Dodge, on their trucks anytime. At the 2007 auto show in NY, I had a chance to sit and examine the Arcardia with extreme prejudice and to my amazment, I had nothing bad to say about this truck.

Now, Will broke it down for me as far as the SUV and CUV is concern, but the vehicle is neither. At least to me. Its a truck. Along with Jo’, my football buddy (6’2, 290lbs, solid) and his girlfriend, two mexicans and a snot nose little kid at the drivers side front door, the fit was absolutly surprising. It comes with some pretty sweet options, Nadia, and you know how I love gagets and instruments. I would hate for ya not to get em. I left the truck and checked out its definitive exterior features. Normally you have a 50% chance of getting the right car as far as its looks. The front is nice or the back is nice, never both. But the Arcardia has that bold, (Don’t mess with me) look and the back was a surprise to me also.

All in all, I think you’ll be surprise with the truck. Its stands out and its positioned for some preety neat features.

The Acadia looks tight. Have you seen the G8? I was reading up on it in motor trend. about 400HP V8 rear wheel drive and six speed stick or auto. It’s worth a look but it doesn’t come out until next year. It would be a big step up from my G6.
