“If they do, then you have big problems on your hands.”
The above is a paraphrashed quote from the host of the New Year’s Eve party we attended, mentioning how he wasn’t trying to kill us with the authentic French food he prepared for us. After stuffing ourselves with goose, three different kinds of mashed potatoes, apple sauce mixed with onions, prunes wrapped in bacon, and various meat spreads (called “pa-tay” – that is how it is pronounced, but I have no idea how to spell it correctly), we spent New Year’s Eve the way any geek would – playing D&D.
Our usual D&D sessions run from 7:30 to 10:30. To end the year with a bang, we had a super-sized session that ran from 5:30 to 12:15, with a cheesecake break toward the middle. My barbarian, who is hungry for combat and hates talking to people, threw only one punch during that entire session. He was disappointed.
I’ve been meaning to post session notes. When I finally get around to it, I will post them under the name Soren and tell the story from his point of view.
Thats so cool, and so true. I’ve killed so many of my guest and I’ve never had aproblem, they never come back. Hehehe. Thats so f%$#ing cool you guys were playing through the New years hours. I would have been there if I was around. Jo and I were busy ducking and dodging bullets here in NY. I don’t know why people like shooting like that at the sound of the Midnight clock. They’re not smart enough to know what the shoot up must come back down again. Idiots…
Hey Will, How come we never had a New years bash like that? And be truthful, Lara-sis against Soren, which barbarian will come out on top. I’m sure I’ll put up a great fight. I will be checking in on the adventures od Soren, so do keep us posted.
Bullets? Where the hell was your New Years at?
We would have to convert Lara-sis to 3.5 before doing a comparison, then I’d have to level Soren to Lara-sis’ last level. I think we played up to 11. We would probably have to change Lara-sis’ class too. He was a fighter in 2E, but now he’d be better as a barbarian.
Seriously though, Soren destroys everything he fights. At third level while raging and power attacking, he does 2d6+15 per hit. Wait till he gets higher up there.
Nevermind…….
??? I’m completely confused right now.
I would love to play a D&D new year’s game! One day we will all share one… Hmm, maybe an internet-based game perhaps? Hey Will, what do you think about that lol?
One day we will enjoy game-filled evenings again. Just wait, the unseen dagger will resurface again
Anywho, I and the better half will be in the air soon. So my next posting will be made in the same time zone.
Oh yeah, I am looking forward to Soren’s adventures. Will that be a separate thread or a whole new page?
It’ll be a normal post like Nad and I leave.
I’ve looked into several options, and I’m closing in on a couple. One is paid, one is free (the paid one is much better). Still no video or voice chat, so we will still need to look at another service to do that.
