Ettin Vandal

We went to the Laughing Bear in another town to get some rest. We sold some stuff, I bought a fancy chain shirt, and traded in my old greatsword for a really nice one too. We went to meet this politician Sir Avis, talked about someone named Corvus, how a war might be brewing, how we should go to Avid to stop an uprising, and… whatever. Skip this stuff. I wasn’t paying attention. All I remember is that we had to disguise as entertainers to get to Avid.

Along the way we found this town called New Fort. They had an ettin problem: this two-headed ogre thing stole their cows and vandalized a church. Rather than dealing with the problem in the best possible way (drive my sword directly into his chest and pull out his heart), the bald guy wanted to talk it out. So did the elf and gnome. Only Elian wanted to kill him too. We were outnumbered, so we tried to talk. With an ettin. What’s next? Barter with dire bears? Have lunch with a demon?

Kill count: not a single thing.

  • Fall Of The Goblin King

The “trap” was a head statue of a goblin that could move. I pushed it out of the way and found a guy hiding in there. We kill that lying goblin-lover, I don’t remember why. I also slaughtered four hobgoblins that thought they were better than me. I felt my bood boil, then I swung my sword in an arc and left them in pieces. An ogre showed up, but that damn wolfrider stole my kill. I could have slew that beast all on my own.

Later on we found a goblin who thought he was a king or something. He had a large group of goblins and hobgoblins and they all rushed us. While the elf and the gnome shot the goblin “king” and I was busy killing goblins, the halfling fell into a hole. Nice fighting position down there.

The goblin leader died, and his troops ran away like cowards.

    Kill count: 5 hobgoblins.

  • Canada Bound

I leave for Toronto tomorrow, and I should be packing right now. Instead, I’ve spent the day solving Weff’s riddles. They start off simple enough, but the difficulty quickly ramps up. I didn’t expect to be so wrapped up in these puzzles. If you try them out and find yourself stuck, feel free to ask me for hints. I’ve solved the first fifty puzzles.

I’m going to Canada to do some training for work. I’ll be there for a week. I plan on posting regularly during the week and gaming from the hotel room. I’ll be there by myself, so if you see me online (IM or LIVE), feel free to say hi and keep my company.
