Nadia pronounces Texas as Tejas, just like how my fellow Spanish-speakers pronounce Mexico as Mejico. Fun fact: that’s the only Spanish word where the letter “x” sounds like a “j.”
I’m headed to San Antonio on Saturday via the Greyhound of the sky, and I’ll be there till Independence Day. Since it’ll be about 105 degrees every freakin’ day, I’m going to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Nad’s been there since some time in May, rotting away in Fort Sam Houston for training. I had to buy some new clothes for this trip as my current wardrobe is really coming apart. For less than $180 I got three pairs of denim shorts, six XXXL shirts, and a new pair of sneakers (Adidas Classics, a first for me). I think I made out alright.

And they are stupid to boot.
It seems that developer 3D Realms said that a demo for the game Prey would be out on June 22nd on the Xbox Live Marketplace. MS never confirmed or denied this date, but since 3D Realms said it, it has to be true. 06/22 came and went, with no Prey demo on the XBLM. Now 360 gamers everywhere are losing their fucking minds.
Hop on over to one of Major Nelson’s posts about a new demo and see how many gamers are bitching about Prey. They are hammering Major Nelson and Microsoft in general, since they are doing a huge disservice to gamers everywhere. “Major should be fired!” and “MS has already doomed the 360 to second place!” are the kind of remarks being made due to this delayed demo, which isn’t really delayed since MS never announced a launch date. The same sort of nonsense is going down on the IGN boards. I’d link to them, but you have to be a subscriber to view them. Believe me, you aren’t missing anything at all.
I hope Prey sucks worse than Superman 64, just so these jackasses can feel like idiots.
(Sorry for all the profanity; I usually don’t do that, but these guys are really getting under my skin).

I’ve updated the Our Game Collection link in the sidebar on the right to point to the newly-updated IGN.com collection page, if you are interested in seeing how many games we own. Our collection is border-line ridiculous right now, with over 600 unique titles and 30-something doubles. The NES, SNES, N64 and GameBoy (original and Color) games are largely from Nad’s collection, while the PC, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, Game Gear, and Dreamcast games are mostly mine.
When we moved in together back in twenty-double-ought, we combined our personal collections into one large library. Now with the GameCube, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, Xbox and Xbox 360, they are “our” games. If only we had the room to display them all in one place instead of scattering them through the house like they are now.
Update: By the way, that page can be slow to load. It loads images for most of the games in the list.
Update #2: A ridiculously sized collection would have 1,459 or 2,866 games in it. I tried to track down images of what the actual libraries looks like (I’ve seen them before), but I can’t find them anywhere. These guys have entire rooms dedicated to displaying their games and other game-related swag.
